Shocking Twist: Five QBs Taken in First Round of Dane Brugler’s 2027 NFL Mock Draft—Who Leads the Pack?

By all accounts, that is not the case next season. College football is littered with elite quarterback prospects heading into next year, which should make it a very fruitful draft for teams looking for future franchise signal-callers. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler had five quarterbacks selected in the first round in his way-too-early 2027 mock draft.

Arch Manning (No. 1), Dante Moore (No. 3), Drew Mestemaker (No. 8), CJ Carr (No. 15) and Jayden Maiava (No. 23) are all projected first-rounders according to Brugler, but a lot can change over the course of the season. Even if one of those quarterbacks has a bad year and falls out of the projected first round, there are a number of other very good quarterback prospects who can take their place. LaNorris Sellers out of South Carolina, Brendan Sorsby out of Texas Tech, and Darian Mensah out of Miami are just three of the options.
