The university has not publicly released the law firm’s report.
A Michigan spokesperson told The Wall Street Journal that the university acted promptly after learning of Moore’s relationship with the staff member but declined further comment because of ongoing litigation.
“The university promptly fired Moore upon learning of the relationship,” the spokesperson told the outlet.
Moore was dismissed with cause in December 2025 after Michigan said it had found “credible evidence” that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.
