Sooners Set for High-Stakes Showdown with Top Local QB Recruit This Weekend—What It Could Mean for Their Future

The Sooners have yet to offer Henry, but they’ve already had him on campus once, as he visited the Sooners earlier this month. Oklahoma’s only QB offer so far in the ’28 class has gone out to Graham Simpson, the younger brother of former Alabama QB Ty Simpson, out of the state of Tennessee. However, it looks like the Sooners are keeping a close eye on a potential emerging star that is very close to home.

Speaking of trying to keep local talent home, OU has also been in pursuit of Rejoice Christian High School’s Kamieon Compton-Nero, an athlete in the Owasso area. Compton-Nero plays in the secondary and at quarterback at the high school level, but the Sooners would likely have designs of him playing safety at the college level. He was also in Norman earlier this month, and has already received an offer from Oklahoma. As the current No. 1 player in the Sooner State, Compton-Nero will be another player OU can watch closely over his final two high school seasons.
