South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart Faces Shocking Setback in Week 1—What This Means for the Season
South Carolina football has some major expectations heading into 2026, looking to rebound from a rough 2025 campaign. Part of the expectations for the Gamecocks ride on the performance of star defensive player Dylan Stewart. Stewart has been dealing with a back injury heading into his junior season.
Now, an update on the status of Stewart and prized transfer left tackle Jacarrius Peak has been given, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.
“South Carolina coach Shane Beamer told ESPN he does not expect star DE Dylan Stewart (back) or prized LT transfer Jacarrius Peak (knee) to play against Kent State this weekend. He added both are ramping up to return, as Peak will do ‘more this morning than he’d done all year’ in practice,” Thamel posted on X, formerly Twitter.
