While commonly associated with the river, the underlying principle of the q bet – a polarizing bet size designed to disrupt opponent thinking – can be adapted to other streets. A conceptually similar “overbet” on the turn can achieve many of the same effects, particularly in situations where you are attempting to represent a strong hand or protect a weak one.
