Texas A&M’s Shocking Defeat to Texas Sends SEC Standings Into Turmoil—Who’s Rising and Who’s Falling?
Texas A&M (19-10, 9-7 SEC) did not help itself in terms of making the NCAA Tournament on Saturday after losing to Texas 76-70 inside a packed Reed Arena. Primarily due to rare poor shooting performance, finishing 38% from the field, and hitting just two three-pointers, only senior Rashaun Agee (22 points) and senior guard Marcus Hill (17 points) looked the part.
Only down one spot in ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s updated tournament bracket, the Aggies still have everything in front of them, but will need to defeat Kentucky at home and LSU on the road before heading to Nashville for the SEC Tournament. Even before Saturday’s loss, Texas A&M needed two more victories to control its own destiny, so the postseason path is still intact.
