Texas Tech’s Cody Campbell Delivers Epic Burn After ‘Chicken and Oil’ Insult—You Won’t Believe His Comeback!
Texas Tech football just wrapped up a nail-biter against Colorado, rallying late to prove they’re still a formidable Top 10 contender as the bye week beckons. But spotlight’s drifting off the gridiron and onto booster Cody Campbell, who’s suddenly caught up in a feud that’s part barnyard, part oil tycoon hustle. Arkansas booster John Tyson threw down a cheeky “chicken and oil” jab—comparing Arkansas’ grassroots grit to Texas Tech’s deep pockets. The question is: when it comes to fueling college football’s fire, does having oil trump having chickens, or is there more cluck behind the scenes? Campbell wasn’t about to let that slide, firing back with a sharp retort that threw head coach Joey McGuire into the mix—reminding everyone money can buy players, but leadership and grit win games. It’s a showdown that peels back the layers of NIL influence, booster bravado, and the tangled web of college football’s new era. Curious how this all shakes out?
