Top-Tier Running Back’s Shocking Auburn Pledge Sends Ripples Through College Football!
Alex Golesh continues to quietly work on his inaugural SEC recruiting class. The first-year head coach added another key piece to Auburn’s 2027 college football class, adding four-star running back recruit Myson Johnson-Cook.
Johnson-Cook, an “elite” top-10 prospect, committed to the Tigers on Saturday, Hayes Fawcett reported for Rivals. The 6-foot-2 running back made the decision as he prepares for his senior season at East St. Louis High School in southern Illinois.
“Coach AG, the head coach, it’s his first year, but I think he’ll be able to flip the program around,” Johnson-Cook said during his announcement, via Rivals on YouTube. “Playoff contenders, National Championship contenders. Coach Larry Porter, he’s got a good history with running backs my size, so I’m putting my future in his hands. I think he will definitely develop me into the person I plan to be… Auburn just felt like home since the first time I visited. The fan base, the culture — the running back culture there is awesome.”
