Martin Jarmond joined UCLA in 2020 after being the AD at Boston College. He was also the assistant AD at Michigan State and Ohio State before that. Meanwhile, he is owed plenty of money on his contract, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.
“Martin Jarmond has been dismissed as UCLA’s athletic director. He’s set to be owed the $6.5 million remaining on his contract. He’s been there since 2020,” Thamel posted on X.
Meanwhile, Harris was the President of Business Operations and Chief Marketing Officer for the Los Angeles Lakers before moving to this job. UCLA chancellor Julio Frenk has also spoken out about the hiring of Harris, per Ira Gorawara of The Athletic.
