Unbelievable 2026 Week 7 NFL Predictions That Could Turn the Season Upside Down!
With the help of the Opta supercomputer, we’re revealing the predictions for the Week 7 games of the 2026 NFL season.
Welcome to Week 7. Let’s see if an NFC East team can actually win this week. With none of the four NFC East teams winning in either Week 5 or Week 6, it became the first time since the 1970 merger a division had all its teams play in back-to-back weeks and not have a single winner. Week 7 concludes with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles squaring off on Monday night, so that will surely give the NFC East a win. Scratch that. The New York Giants and Washington Commanders proved two weeks ago, you can play 70 minutes without a winner. Here are the predictions, as of Wednesday morning, and previews for the entire Week 7 slate.
Thursday, Oct. 22
New England Patriots vs. Chicago Bears
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Bears 62.2%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Patriots 11-4
- Last Meeting: Patriots 19, Bears 3 (Nov. 10, 2024)
The Chicago Bears got their starting quarterback back from injury last week and he provided a needed spark to invigorate the offense. His New England Patriots counterpart – a fellow 2024 draft class standout – is once again playing like an MVP, but he lost three offensive linemen to injury on Sunday, and the team now travels to Chicago with a quick turnaround between games.
After missing three games with a hamstring injury, Caleb Williams was sharp in his return in Sunday’s 31-23 road win over the Atlanta Falcons. He completed his first 12 passes and finished 30 of 36 for 305 yards with one touchdown for a 111.2 passer rating with a well-thrown rate of 90.6%. In the two games he has started and finished, Williams has completed 78.5% of his passes for 574 yards with the Bears (4-2) totaling 90 points and 920 yards. That will do.
The Patriots (4-2) aren’t too far off that pace during their three-game winning streak, averaging 33.3 points and 441.3 yards with Drake Maye throwing 10 TD passes against one interception for a 119.3 QB rating. Maye, though, lost right tackle Morgan Moses (ankle), right guard Ben Brown (knee) and left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring) to injuries in Sunday’s 26-19 home win over the New York Jets. This is to an offensive line that already placed starting right guard Mike Onwenu (right ankle) and his replacement Greg Van Roten (thigh) on injured reserve in the last month.
Despite playing behind a banged-up O-line, Maye wasn’t sacked for the first time this season on Sunday but now faces a Bears defense that is coming off a season-high five-sack performance. On the season, Chicago ranks sixth in pressure rate at 53.4% and its sack rate of 9.4% ranks second.
Maye and Williams were rookies the last time the Patriots and Bears met in Week 10 of 2024. Maye threw for 184 yards with a touchdown and an interception and Williams passed for 120 yards in New England’s 19-3 win, the Pats’ sixth victory in the last seven meetings.
Sunday, Oct. 25
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints in Paris
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Steelers 57.5%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Saints 9-8
- Last Meeting: Steelers 20, Saints 10 (Nov. 13, 2022)
Grab a croissant and a cafe au lait and settle in Sunday morning as the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints square off in in the NFL’s first regular-season game in France at Paris’ Stade de France. The game will go on as scheduled despite ongoing protests in France.
The Saints (2-4) go from the French Quarter to the French capital on the heels of a 34-27 win over the New York Giants, snapping a three-game losing streak. Tyler Shough threw three touchdown passes without an interception while the New Orleans defense intercepted three passes and registered a season-high five sacks.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sacked five times for the second time in three games Sunday, but he rallied Pittsburgh (4-2) with four fourth-quarter scoring drives in a 26-19 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His 6-yard TD pass to Germie Bernard in OT was the 539th of his career, tying him with Hall of Famer Peyton Manning for third on the all-time list. Since Week 3, Rodgers’ 11 touchdown passes are the most in the NFL and on the season, he’s averaging 7.57 air yards on his throws after averaging a league-low 6.13 air yards in 2025.
In the last meeting between these teams in Week 10 of 2022, the Steelers outgained the Saints 379-186 in total yardage in a 20-10 victory, snapping a three-game losing streak in the series.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Panthers 60.4%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Panthers 26-25
- Last Meeting: Buccaneers 16, Panthers 14 (Jan. 3, 2026)
A matchup between the one-win Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFC South-leading Carolina Panthers could receive a little injection of excitement with the possibility that Baker Mayfield could suit up.
Mayfield has been sidelined since dislocating his thumb in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3, and although backup Jalon Daniels led the Buccaneers to their lone win, the offense hasn’t been that intimidating. Tampa Bay (1-5) averaged a mere 3.1 yards per play and finished with a season-low 224 yards in Sunday’s 26-19 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On the flip side, the Panthers (3-2) rank second in the NFL in total offense with an average of 404.4 yards per game and their 46 plays of 15+ yards this season are second only to the Buffalo Bills’ 53.
In Sunday’s 25-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and a pair of touchdown passes to tight end Tommy Tremble. He has now passed for 280 yards or more with at least one TD in all five games this season, becoming the first quarterback to reach those marks in each of the first five games of a season since 2013, when it was achieved by both Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.
That was the first Kyle Orton reference of the season in our weekly predictions series. We will go out of our way to make sure it’s not our last.
These teams split their two meetings last season with the Buccaneers holding on for a 16-14 home win in Week 18 after the Panthers won 23-20 just two weeks earlier. Since the start of 2020, Tampa Bay has won 10 of the 12 matchups.
New York Giants vs. Houston Texans
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Texans 79.1%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Giants 5-1
- Last Meeting: Giants 24, Texans 10 (Nov. 13, 2022)
Despite back-to-back winless weekends, the New York Giants still sit atop the abysmal NFC East. The Houston Texans, meanwhile, suddenly find themselves in hot pursuit of first place in the AFC South despite an 0-4 start to the season.
The Texans (2-4) return home after a terrific trip to London in which they racked up a season-high 426 yards and averaged 7.2 yards per play in Sunday’s 34-31 win over the division-leading Jacksonville Jaguars. C.J. Stroud completed 24 of 34 passes for 312 yards with a season-high three touchdowns and an interception. He completed passes to 10 different players and targeted new Texan Marvin Harrison Jr. four times with his former college teammate at Ohio State catching three balls – all for first downs – for 34 yards.
The Giants might be making a change at quarterback after what transpired in Sunday’s 34-27 home loss to the New Orleans Saints. Jameis Winston threw two more interceptions and passed for just 152 yards with an average of 5.85 yards per throw before John Harbaugh replaced him with J.J. McCarthy. The recently acquired signal-caller gave the offense a needed jolt and nearly rallied New York (3-2-1) to an improbable win after trailing 34-10 midway through the fourth quarter. McCarthy threw for 243 yards with an average of 11.57 yards per attempt and drove the Giants down to the New Orleans 14-yard line in the closing seconds before an incompletion on fourth down ended the comeback bid.
These teams meet for the first time since the Giants’ 24-16 victory in 2022, their fifth straight win in the series since they lost the first matchup back in 2002. The five-game winning streak is New York’s longest active win streak against any current opponent.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Vikings 69.1%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Colts 17-9-1
- Last Meeting: Vikings 21, Colts 13 (Nov. 3, 2024)
The Minnesota Vikings return from their Week 5 bye feeling good about the fact that they’re 5-0 and yet see plenty of room for improvement. And at the complete opposite end of the spectrum are the scuffling Indianapolis Colts, who fired their general manager amid a lackluster 2-4 start.
Blowing a 13-0 halftime lead in Sunday’s 26-20 loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans appeared to be the last straw for management, with GM Chris Ballard being fired less than 24 hours later. Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor both contributed to the second-half collapse as Jones was intercepted and Taylor fumbled on the next possession. On the season, the Colts have a league-worst minus-8 turnover differential.
They now face a Minnesota team that is tied with the Washington Commanders for the league lead with a plus-6 turnover differential. The Vikings also lead the NFL in scoring defense (12.8 points per game) and opponents’ successful play rate (29.9%) while ranking second in opponents’ average yards per play (4.62). That’s the good. The bad is the offense ranks 31st in successful play rate (33.9%) and 27th in average yards per play (4.61), though the passing game appears to be taking flight.
In the last six quarters, Kyler Murray has completed 40 of 48 passes for 364 yards with a touchdown and a 105.2 passer rating. On the season, he’s thrown 11 passes to Justin Jefferson with the All-Pro receiver catching 10 of them for 122 yards with a touchdown, which works out to a 143.2 QB rating for Murray.
In the last meeting between these teams in Week 9 of 2024, Jefferson had seven receptions for 137 yards in Minnesota’s 21-13 home win. The Vikings have won the last two in the series after losing the previous six matchups.
Cleveland Browns vs. Tennessee Titans
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Browns 51.8%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Browns 37-32
- Last Meeting: Titans 31, Browns 29 (Dec. 7, 2025)
Take a screenshot of the standings, Cleveland Browns fans, cause your team is in first place in the AFC North! Tennessee Titans fans can also look at the standings without grimacing because your team no longer has a zero in the “W” column.
The Titans (1-5) got their first win of the season Sunday, rallying with 20 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Indianapolis Colts 26-20. The defense forced three turnovers and had six sacks while special teams came up with two huge plays in the final period – a 58-yard punt return by Chimere Dike and a 14-yard touchdown return of a blocked punt by Oluwafemi Oladejo. That helped make up for an offense that managed a season-low 186 yards with Cam Ward completing 11 of 22 passes for 102 yards.
Offense is a major issue for the Titans this season, as they’re averaging an NFL-worst 236.3 yards per game and are tied with the winless Miami Dolphins in scoring at 14.0 points per game.
The Browns (4-2) aren’t much better, ranking 29th in total offense (267.5 yards per game), tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for 28th in scoring (17.7 points per game) and tied with the Minnesota Vikings for 29th in touchdown efficiency at 14.3% (10 TDs on 70 possessions). They only managed 237 offensive yards and one touchdown Sunday but that was enough to beat the Tyler Huntley-led Baltimore Ravens 13-10.
The defense is carrying Cleveland with its pressure rate of 54.8% ranking fourth and 19 sacks ranking second. Maliek Collins’ 30 pressures are fourth in the NFL among interior linemen while his pressure rate of 24.2% ranks fifth.
When these teams met in Week 14 of last season, the Titans hung on for a 31-29 victory as the Browns missed a 2-point conversion with just over a minute to play. Tony Pollard rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns as Tennessee won for the fourth time in the last six meetings.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Ravens 58.6%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Ravens 33-27
- Last Meeting: Ravens 24, Bengals 0 (Dec. 14, 2025)
The Cincinnati Bengals may be sitting in last place in the AFC North but still find themselves in a favorable position within the division. The Baltimore Ravens are coming off an ugly loss but will also be in a much better spot if Lamar Jackson is able to return this week.
The Bengals (3-2) are coming off a well-timed Week 6 bye, giving receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins an opportunity to get healthy from injuries that have forced them to miss time. While the offense is not yet firing on all cylinders, a revamped defense is exceeding expectations. Cincinnati ranks third in sack rate (9.2%), fourth in red zone touchdown efficiency (41.2%) and fifth in pressure rate (53.5%).
The Ravens (4-2) averaged a season-low 4.1 yards per play and gained a season-worst 235 yards in Sunday’s 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The loss pushed the 4-2 Browns atop the AFC North, though our Opta supercomputer still gives Baltimore the highest likelihood of winning the division at 43.7%. The Bengals aren’t far behind at 37.2%.
The Ravens’ odds would receive a significant boost with the possible return of Jackson. The team is averaging 6.94 yards per play when Jackson is on the field compared to 4.76 yards per play without him.
The Bengals and Ravens split their 2025 matchups with the Bengals winning 32-14 at Baltimore in Week 13 and the Ravens exacting a mark of revenge with a 24-0 rout two weeks later. Joe Burrow is 1-5 in last six games against the Ravens.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: 49ers 56.4%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: 49ers 48-32-1
- Last Meeting: 49ers 20, Falcons 10 (Oct. 19, 2025)
Six weeks down, and six wins in the books for the San Francisco 49ers. As the NFL’s lone 6-0 team, the 49ers look to extend their perfect start when they visit an Atlanta Falcons team trying to avoid a third straight loss.
With Monday’s 23-17 victory over the Washington Commanders, the 49ers are off to their best start since the 2019 team won its first eight games. Brock Purdy completed 21 of 29 passes for 264 yards with an 11-yard touchdown to George Kittle, and in the process officially became the highest-rated passer in NFL history as he surpassed the 1,500 attempt qualifier. He owns a 105.6 QB rating, dropping Lamar Jackson to second with his 102.7 rating.
Nine of Purdy’s completions went to Christian McCaffrey, who finished with 53 receiving yards with another 64 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to seven. McCaffrey rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and caught seven passes for 72 yards in the Mac Jones-led 49ers 20-10 home win over the Falcons in Week 7 last year. San Francisco, however, has lost its last four trips to Atlanta dating to a 37-31 overtime win in 2001.
The Falcons (2-4) are coming off a 31-23 home loss to the Chicago Bears, a game in which they fell behind 28-7 and abandoned their potent rushing attack behind Bijan Robinson. Despite averaging 6.8 yards on his rushing attempts against the Bears, the Falcons called Robinson’s number just nine times. Two of those carries went for at least 10 yards, giving him 15 rushes of 10+ yards on the season – tied with the Indianapolis Colts’ Jonathan Taylor for fourth.
It won’t be easy to add to that total against a stout San Francisco rush defense that has surrendered a league-low four rushes of 10+ yards the entire season.
Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Jets 63.2%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Dolphins 62-57-1
- Last Meeting: Dolphins 34, Jets 10 (Dec. 7, 2025)
It’s been a disastrous start to the season for the winless Miami Dolphins, but at least they’ll emerge from their bye with a little bit of a break in the schedule with a game against another downtrodden team in the New York Jets.
Through their first five games, the Dolphins have had to face the NFL’s three undefeated teams in the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers and their overall opponents’ win-loss record is 22-5 for an .815 winning percentage. The next-highest opponents’ winning percentage is .647 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22-12). The Jets enter this matchup with a 2-4 record after falling to the New England Patriots 26-19 on Sunday.
New York averaged 5.4 yards per play against the Patriots after averaging 4.2 yards per play in its previous two games but went 3 for 10 on third downs, 0 for 2 on fourth downs and scored one touchdown on 11 offensive possessions. Braelon Allen stepped up again in the absence of Breece Hall, rushing for 78 yards on 17 carries while catching two passes for 26 yards with each resulting in a first down. In the last two weeks, no player has more rushes of 10+ yards than Allen’s nine.
The Dolphins swept the season series in 2025, and have won 10 of 12 matchups since the start of the 2020 season.
Denver Broncos vs. Arizona Cardinals
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Broncos 60.2%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Broncos 10-1-1
- Last Meeting: Broncos 24, Cardinals 15 (Dec. 18, 2022)
The Denver Broncos have a winning record despite having a passing game stuck in neutral. The defense, though, is operating at full throttle and takes aim at an Arizona Cardinals offense that failed to score a touchdown in its last game – yet still came away with a win.
After averaging 3.9 yards per play in a Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos (4-2) averaged an anemic 2.9 yards per play in last Thursday’s 17-14 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks. Bo Nix followed up his 123-yard performance in Week 5 with 107 passing yards against Seattle. He isn’t airing it out nearly as much as he was a year ago, averaging a league-low 5.94 air yards per throw (down from 7.75 in 2025) while his checkdown rate of 20.3% is the highest in the NFL this season.
Given Nix’s lack of production, it should come as no surprise that Courtland Sutton has just 13 catches for 123 yards. He’s averaging 6.8 yards at catch, down from an average of 10.6 last season.
At least Denver’s defense is giving opposing offenses fits. The Broncos had 12 different players register a QB hit last Thursday and their 53 QB hits on the season are tops in the NFL. Denver sacked Sam Darnold five times with Zach Allen being credited with half of a sack, bringing his season total to a team-leading 4.5. His adjusted sack rate of 7.4% is the highest among the 45 interior linemen with at least 80 pressures.
The defense now turns its attention to an Arizona offense that isn’t much better than Denver’s in terms of its passing game, ranking 30th in yards per attempt at 5.68, just a tad better than the Broncos’ league-worst average of 5.55. The Cardinals gained 338 yards of offense on Sunday and pulled off a stunning 18-16 upset of the heavily favored Los Angeles Rams, winning on Chad Ryland’s sixth field goal as time expired.
These teams haven’t met since the Broncos’ 24-15 home win in 2022, which improved their overall record in the series to 10-1-1. This .875 winning percentage is Denver’s best against any single team while the .125 winning percentage for Arizona is the franchise’s worst against any team.
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Lions 62.5%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Packers 106-78-7
- Last Meeting: Packers 31, Lions 24 (Nov. 27, 2025)
The Detroit Lions are hoping their offense can pick up right where it left off two weeks ago before their Week 6 bye. They return to face a Green Bay Packers team that has also found its footing and is seeking a fourth straight victory.
The explosive Lions (3-2) are first in touchdown efficiency at 37.7% (20 TDs on 53 offensive drives) and scored on seven straight possessions in their 45-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, making that the fourth time already they’ve reached the 31-point mark.
Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals, raising his season totals to 504 rushing yards and seven rushing scores. If that’s not enough, he also has 243 receiving yards and two receiving TDs. He is the fourth player in NFL history – and the first since Christian McCaffrey in 2019 – with at least 500 rushing yards and 240 receiving yards through the first five games of a season.
Green Bay (4-2) pushed its winning streak to three games with a 23-13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Jordan Love threw for 276 yards with a touchdown and an interception with Pierre Strong Jr. leading the rushing attack (if you can call it that) with 28 yards on 11 carries.
The Packers continue to win despite having a one-dimensional offense without the threat of a ground game. They’re averaging a league-low 59.8 rushing yards per game, and are on pace for an historically unbalanced offensive attack with just 18.2% of their total yards coming on the ground.

The Packers swept the 2025 season series from the Lions with Love throwing for six touchdowns – including a four-TD performance in a 31-24 victory last Thanksgiving.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Las Vegas Raiders
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Rams 59.7%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Tied 8-8
- Last Meeting: Rams 20, Raiders 15 (Oct. 20, 2024)
The Los Angeles Rams opened the season as clear favorites to win the Super Bowl with the supercomputer calculating their probability of winning the championship at 18.5%. With only two NFC teams having worse records than the Rams’, those odds of winning the title are down to 4.13%. In danger of its season spiraling out of control, Los Angeles visits a Las Vegas Raiders team that is also trying to get its season back on track.
Six days after losing to the Buffalo Bills 37-34 in overtime, the Rams (2-4) suffered another gut-wrenching defeat in Week 6, with the Arizona Cardinals kicking a 43-yard field goal as time expired to send Los Angeles to an 18-16 defeat. With a four-point loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 3 and a four-point win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, this is the first time in franchise history the Rams have played four consecutive games decided by four points or fewer.
The Rams can move the ball, ranking third in total offense at 401.3 yards per game, but aren’t reaching the end zone at the same rate as they were last year when they lead the league in scoring at 30.5 points per game. They are 12th in touchdown efficiency at 25.8% (17 TDs on 66 offensive possessions) after scoring on 34.8% of possessions in 2025 (63 TDs on 181 drives).
They now must press on without receiver Davante Adams, who is expected to be sidelined for six to 10 weeks with a significant hamstring injury. Their first game without their leader in receiving yards (480) and TD receptions (4) will be against a Raiders team that is allowing an average of 36.0 points and 426.7 yards during a three-game losing streak. This is after it yielded an average of 18.0 points and 316.7 yards during a 3-0 start. In Sunday’s 33-30 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Kirk Cousins threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns but the defense gave up 14 plays of at least 10 yards. On the season, Las Vegas’ 86 plays allowed of 10+ yards are the second most in the NFL.
The Rams beat the Raiders 20-15 in the last meeting two years ago for their fourth straight win in the series dating to a 16-14 loss at Oakland in 2010.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Seahawks 57.6%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Chiefs 34-19
- Last Meeting: Chiefs 24, Seahawks 10 (Dec. 24, 2022)
Of the 272 regular-season games in the 2026 NFL season, it’s possible no other one will feature a player in the spotlight more than Kenneth Walker III on Sunday Night Football. Just over eight months after earning Super Bowl MVP honors in helping to lead the Seattle Seahawks to the championship, Walker returns to Seattle with the Kansas City Chiefs. A simple homecoming like that would be enough of a storyline but Walker is also an early MVP frontrunner, having been instrumental to Kansas City’s 5-0 start.
Name the rushing stat, and it’s likely Walker leads the NFL in that category. He’s averaging a league-leading 6.27 yards per carry, has an NFL-best 52 missed/broken tackles and his league-best 655 rushing yards are 12 more yards than the entire Seahawks team has gained on the ground all season despite playing one more game than Walker’s Chiefs. There is still a long way to go, but Walker’s average of 133.0 rushing yards per game would be the highest by any player since O.J. Simpson averaged 143.1 rushing yards for the Buffalo Bills in 1973.

Walker rushed for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Kansas City’s 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but this will be the toughest defense he’ll have faced all season. Seattle’s opponents’ average of 3.51 yards per rush ranks fourth and its 18 tackles behind the line of scrimmage are one fewer than the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most in the NFL. In their 17-14 overtime loss at Denver last Thursday, they limited the Broncos to an average of just 2.64 yards on their 28 rushing attempts, with only four of those runs gaining more than five yards.
The Chiefs won the last matchup 24-10 on Christmas Eve 2022, but the Seahawks have won three of the last four meetings in Seattle.
Monday, Oct. 26
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- Opta Supercomputer’s Win Probability: Cowboys 60.2%
- All-Time Regular-Season Meetings: Cowboys 72-58
- Last Meeting: Cowboys 24, Eagles 21 (Nov. 23, 2025)
A disappointing start to the season for the Philadelphia Eagles took an unfortunate turn earlier this week when it was announced that Jalen Hurts has blood clots in his lungs and will not play again this season. On the positive side, the Eagles said Hurts is expected to make a full recovery. They’ll again turn to Tanner McKee at quarterback when they host the rival Dallas Cowboys on Monday.
In their first game with McKee under center on Sunday, the Eagles averaged 3.6 yards per play with McKee completing 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards with a touchdown in a 25-14 home loss to the Carolina Panthers for their fourth straight defeat. It didn’t help McKee that Philadelphia (2-4) was once again without Saquon Barkley, who missed a second straight game because of an injured hamstring. In the two games Barkley was sidelined, the Eagles averaged 1.84 yards per carry and gained a grand total of 57 rushing yards. This is Philadelphia’s fewest rushing yards over a two-game span in a single season since it gained 43 yards on the ground in back-to-back games in October 2005.
Barkley’s status for Week 7 is uncertain, but even if the Eagles again go with Dameon Pierce they should be able to get the ground game untracked against a Cowboys team that is allowing an NFL-worst 149.8 rushing yards per game.
Dallas’ ground game is also a mess and contributing to the team’s sluggish start. In Sunday’s 23-13 road loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys (2-4) had just 14 designed runs with Javonte Williams gaining 41 yards on 11 carries. Dak Prescott attempted 54 passes – his most in a regular-season game since 2021 – and completed 34 of them for 258 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions – his second straight two-interception game. The catchability rate on his passes in the last two weeks is at 77.7% (18th among qualifiers) after being at 84.0% (fourth among qualifiers) through Week 4.
These division rivals split their two 2025 matchups with the Eagles winning 24-20 in the season opener and the Cowboys taking the rematch in Week 12, winning 24-21 on Brandon Aubrey’s 42-yard field goal as time expired.
