Unbelievable Power Surge: The Day MLB Exploded with Record-Breaking Home Runs
The rarity of multiple round-trippers in a game brings up the question: Who has hit the most home runs in a single game?
Most Home Runs in a Game (Modern Era Since 1901)
T-1. 4 – Kyle Schwarber, Phillies (Aug. 28, 2025 vs. Atlanta Braves)
The Schwarber bombs marked the first time in MLB history that three different players hit four home runs in a game in the same season (also the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Eugenio Suarez and the Athletics’ Nick Kurtz). Schwarber homered to right field in his first and third at-bats, to left-center during his fourth trip to the plate and back to right in his fifth trip. He got another at-bat in the bottom of the eighth, but popped out. While going 4-for-6, he collected a career-high nine RBIs for the Phillies’ franchise record.
