Unlocking the Unstoppable: Meet the 2025 NFL Superstars Dominating the Game in Unexpected Ways
Best Tackling Defensive Back: Nick Cross, Indianapolis Colts
Not only did Cross have the best run-defense rating among defensive backs, but he also led all defensive backs with 2.33 yards allowed per tackle. Cross had 14 missed tackles on his 135 attempts.
Best All-Around Cornerback: Kyle Hamilton, Baltimore Ravens
We’re listing Hamilton under cornerback because that’s where he played the most snaps, but this could really be called best back-seven player. He played significant snaps at safety and middle linebacker while still recording some of the best performance numbers we’ve ever recorded. Hamilton has the only 100 rating in any category with his league-leading coverage rating, and he also led the NFL with a 77.5 run defense rating among cornerbacks. Hamilton won 22 of his 24 man coverage matchups in 2025 and his zone coverage win rate was 89.3%. His adjusted win rate was 90.2%, and the only other player over 85% was Fred Warner in an injury-shortened season.
