Magic, Larry and the Bad Boy Pistons were a distant memory. Michael Jordan’s Bulls had finally been broken up, and Shaq and Kobe’s run was just beginning.
Things were changing fast at the turn of the century.
Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Co. dominated most of the 1990s, but the San Antonio Spurs were starting to show signs of a future dynasty at the end of the decade. And Shaquille O’Neal won the first of his three straight NBA Finals MVPs at the end of the 1999-2000 season for Phil Jackson’s Los Angeles Lakers.
