Utah’s 2026 Hopes Hang in the Balance as Star O-Lineman Faces Season-Ending Blow at Pivotal Moment

Utah is preparing for the final run of the 2026 campaign, with games against BYU, Arizona, TCU and West Virginia to end the season.

Utah is now 8-0 on the year and is looking to make a run to the College Football Playoff. Utah has jumped into the Top 5 in the AP Poll and is heading into the biggest stretch of the season.

This Saturday, Utah will host BYU in a Top 10 matchup. As they head into the game, the Utes will be without one of their top players, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.

“Morgan Scalley announces that Utah freshman starting offensive lineman Kelvin Obot (lower leg) is out for the year. He’s a former 5-star recruit at offensive tackle who was a Top 50 overall recruit and a Top 5 tackle recruit. He’d started three games at guard for Utah this year,” Thamel posted on X, formerly Twitter.
