WATCH: Gordon Breaks Barcelona Drought with Stunning Goal—What Came Next Will Shock You!
Anthony Gordon’s moment in the spotlight finally arrived – and what a way to announce it! Barely two minutes into the clash at Camp Nou against Getafe, Gordon broke his scoring duck for Barcelona, turning heads and shifting the game’s momentum in a heartbeat. It’s been quite the ride since he swapped Newcastle United’s black and white for Barca’s iconic blaugrana this summer, dazzling with four assists but somehow elusive on the scoresheet—until now. His recent exploits with England, netting in three out of four Nations League outings, hinted at this ignition, but seeing him finally notch for Barça on their return to LaLiga wasn’t just satisfying—it felt electrifying. A bit of fortune helped as his blistering strike from outside the box took a hefty deflection, leaving Getafe’s keeper David Soria stranded; yet such is the beauty of football’s unpredictability. This goal, though significant, was just the prelude to Barca’s continuing assault, with Gabriel Jesus doubling the lead before halftime. As the season gallops towards eight wins from eight, the Catalan giants are eyeing maintaining their lead atop the table—and with Gordon now finding the net, their offensive firepower is only surging.
