Why Joel Klatt’s Surprising QB Ranking of Notre Dame’s CJ Carr Has NFL Scouts Talking
As a redshirt freshman, Carr proved that he is ready to handle that kind of load in year two as a starter. Analysts around the nation have noticed as well, including FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt. In his offseason rankings of the top 10 quarterbacks in the nation, Klatt ranked Carr as the No. 5 quarterback in the country.
Last season, Carr completed 66.6% of his passes for 2,741 yards and 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions. Those numbers will have to come up this season in an offense that is likely to be more pass-happy, but the Michigan native has the talent to handle it.
