4-Star WR’s Shocking Flip: Why Washington Edged Out Texas A&M in a Stunning Recruitment Twist

Washington football landed another big fish in its 2027 recruiting class Friday when four-star wide receiver Dontay Tyson, product of Peoria High School in Arizona, announced his commitment to Jedd Fisch and the Huskies over the Texas A&M Aggies.

Tyson made his decision shortly after completing an official visit to Seattle, his second trip to Washington after attending the program’s Junior Day event in March. The Huskies had remained one of his top choices throughout the recruiting process, with wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings playing a central role in building a strong relationship with the Arizona prospect.
