BYU’s Star RB LJ Martin Faces Uncertain Fate: What This Means for the Big Game Against Utah
BYU is still awaiting the return of running back LJ Martin ahead of their Holy War rivalry game against the Utah Utes.
It’s the biggest game of the season for both BYU and Utah as they collide in the Holy War. The big news surrounding the Cougars is the status of senior running back LJ Martin.
Pete Thamel of ESPN provided a somewhat mixed update on Martin. While he has practiced and looks on course to play, his role will likely be limited against the Utes.
Martin has not featured since picking up an injury in the Cougars’ 17-10 win over TCU on Oct. 3. But even though he’s missed all that time, Martin remains the team’s leading rusher this season with 344 yards and three touchdowns. All three of those touchdowns came in a brilliant performance against Colorado State, where he had 176 yards on just 15 carries.
