Disguised Deception: Ex-Alabama Player’s Shocking Scam as Michael Penix Jr. Uncovered

Being an NFL quarterback is a dream for many fans of football. Michael Penix Jr. is living that dream as the quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons. He may not be in the most enviable position as a QB, as Penix may not be the long-term answer for the Falcons. Still, one former Alabama football player wants to be him.

Former Alabama player, Luther Davis, has been using makeup and wigs to impersonate people, such as Penix, in a multimillion-dollar loan scam, according to Pro Football Talk.

According to the charges, Davis would apply for loans, and then dress to look like a current NFL player at closing to secure the loan. He impersonated Penix, as well as Xavier McKinner and David Njoku. Davis plans to plead guilty to charges that he “obtained at least thirteen fraudulent loans totaling more than $19,845,000.”
