Florida’s Vernell Brown III Faces Shocking Downgrade Ahead of Georgia Clash—What It Means for the Gators’ Chances
Florida WR Vernell Brown III was downgraded to questionable on the latest SEC availability report ahead of Saturday’s clash vs. Georgia.
The No. 17 Florida Gators could be without one of their leading offensive weapons again when they face the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday as sophomore wide receiver Vernell Brown III was downgraded to questionable on Friday’s SEC availability report.
Brown had been listed as probable on Wednesday and Thursday, raising hopes that he would return after missing Florida’s last three games with a knee injury. The Gators have been without Brown since he suffered the injury during the first half of their September 26 win over Ole Miss. His absence has coincided with a decline in Florida’s offensive production. During the team’s 4-0 opening stretch, Brown recorded 17 receptions for 271 yards and four touchdowns, including two scores on punt returns.
