Florida’s Vernell Brown III Faces Shocking Downgrade Ahead of Georgia Clash—What It Means for the Gators’ Chances

The Gators scored 96 points across their SEC victories over Auburn and the Rebels but has managed just 63 points while going 1-2 in the three games without him.

Brown is not the only Florida receiver whose availability remains uncertain. Fellow without Bailey Stockton was upgraded from doubtful to questionable after appearing on the injury report with a left ankle issue. Stockton has participated in all seven games this season, amassing 27 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, things appear to be trending in a positive direction for the Gators at quarterback. Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. were both upgraded from questionable to probable on Friday. Philo is expected to start after missing last week’s 27-24 win over Texas because of a right shoulder injury. Jones filled in during that upset, helping Florida overcome the Longhorns despite taking considerable amount of contact.
