HBCU Legacy Bowl’s Unexpected Move Sparks Speculation—What’s Behind the Sudden Change?

The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl is making a huge move ahead of the fall football season. The February showcase will now take place in Atlanta, Georgia, starting in 2027, after relocating from New Orleans, Louisiana. The move was announced by the HBCU Legacy Bowl on Friday in a statement.

“Atlanta represents tremendous growth and opportunity for the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl and the young people we serve,” Doug Williams, co-founder of the Black College Football Hall of Fame said in a statement. “We believe this next chapter will elevate the experience for our students, fans, partners, and NFL scouts while continuing to honor the proud traditions and lasting impact of HBCU football.”
