How Clemson’s Christopher Vizzina Shook Up the Game by Starting a Freshman QB Against Bill Belichick and UNC
“Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina suffered an elbow injury vs. Georgia Southern yesterday and is currently expected to miss at least the Tigers’ upcoming game against North Carolina, sources tell [CBS Sports],” Zenitz wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Freshman Tait Reynolds is expected to start vs. UNC.”
The aforementioned win on Saturday against Georgia Southern would see extended playing time for Reynolds as Vizzina left the game in the first quarter after commanding three drives for the Tigers. Reynolds would finish Saturday with 178 yards while completing 16 out of 27 pass attempts, as Vizzina is being considered “week-to-week” with the elbow injury, according to Pete Thamel at ESPN.
