PSG are beginning to fit into that second category since they no longer appear to require excuses, transitional narratives and regular rebranding. They appear to be comfortable, threatening and repeatable.
Should that be the case, then the implication is broadly important. European football could be going through a stage where PSG is not only a member of the elite but also one of the clubs that define it. That would be an improvement. It would symbolize a change of position.
