The results back up the claim that the Big Ten is in the driver’s seat at the moment. In 2024, Michigan was the best team in the country all season before winning the national title. In 2025, Oregon entered the CFP as the No. 1 team in the nation before another Big Ten team, Ohio State, won the title. And in 2026, Indiana became the first team ever to go 16-0 in a season on the way to its national title.
During that time, Georgia has won two SEC Championships, but has not won a CFP game. The SEC has not even reached a national title game during that time, with the likes of Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss falling short in the semifinals.
