Mekhi Williams’ Shocking Twist: Why He Ditched Florida State for Wisconsin Last Minute
Just days after decommitting from the Florida State Seminoles, four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday, bolstering their 2027 recruiting class.
Williams, a Ruskin, Florida native who attends Lennard High School, revealed his decision during a live broadcast on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel. The announcement followed an eventful week that included an official visit to Madison and his decommitment from Florida State, a program he had been committed to since March 2025.
