Rangers’ Matt Rempe Faces Mysterious Injury After Brutal Clash with Sharks’ Ryan Reaves—What Really Happened on the Ice?

Matt Rempe dropped the gloves with the Sharks’ Ryan Reaves, who once filled his role as the Blueshirts’ enforcer before the 6-foot-9 forward broke into the NHL.
In a heavyweight bout at center ice in the first period of the Rangers’ eventual 6-5 overtime loss to the Sharks, the two exchanged blows before Rempe retreated to the locker room.
Rempe did not finish the opening frame and was ruled out for the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.
“He’s being evaluated right now for an upper-body injury,” head coach Mike Sullivan said afterward.
