Shock Transfer: Louisville’s Top CB Prospect Chooses Rival Vanderbilt in Stunning Twist
Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class took another setback Friday after four-star cornerback Allen Evans IV announced he has flipped his commitment to Vanderbilt. Evans, a Louisville Trinity standout, had been pledged to the Cardinals since Jan. 10, when he made his decision during the Navy All-American Bowl.
The 6-foot-2 defensive back is one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. Evans carries a 94 rating and ranks No. 76 nationally, according to 247Sports. The 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 145 overall player, the No. 2 prospect in Kentucky and gives him a 0.9388 rating, which made him the ninth-highest-rated commitment of Louisville’s modern recruiting era. Rivals ranks him as the nation’s No. 17 cornerback and No. 121 overall recruit.
