Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby Cleared for 2026 Season Amid Shocking Gambling Controversy—What’s Next?
After weeks of waiting, Texas Tech football finally has received a decision on Brendan Sorsby’s status for 2026.
After a hearing regarding his gambling case, Sorsby has been granted an injunction against the NCAA and is eligible to play in 2026, per Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports.
Sorsby filed for the injunction after being ruled ineligible due to his gambling history, including betting on college sports, on the basis of his mental health being impacted if he were to be suspended. That played a part in the court’s decision, per a statement shared by Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.
