Unexpected Twist: Former Georgia Star Cleared of Charges After Shocking Pre-Draft Arrest
On Wednesday, criminal obstruction charges filed against Atlanta Falcons WR Zachariah Branch were dropped, per Mark Schlabach of ESPN.
Back in April, Branch was charged with misdemeanors for obstructing public sidewalks and obstructing a police officer in Athens, Georgia. Ultimately, the police were called to deal with a large crowd gathered outside a bar in the early morning hours. Branch was arrested at 1:30 am EST for failing “to comply with multiple verbal lawful commands.”
Branch’s attorney, Kim Stephens, confirmed to ESPN that prosecutors agreed to drop the charges after reviewing all the evidence.
