Ex-South Carolina QB Stephen Garcia Faces Life-Threatening Battle: A Cancer Diagnosis That Shocks Fans and Raises Urgent Questions
Former South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia announced Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer following several days in the hospital and extensive medical testing, including MRIs and CT scans.
Garcia shared the news through social media and a GoFundMe page organized by his wife, Maria.
“Wasn’t overly excited to share this news but it is what it is,” the 38-year-old wrote in a Facebook post. “We have a great team of doctors and staff that’s confident we can beat this! It’s the only option.”
