Texas A&M’s Daymion Sanford Faces Uncertain Future After Mysterious Spring Game Injury and Surgery

A senior and team captain for 2026, Sanford had been expected to lead the linebacker unit after a strong junior season. This past season, he recorded 57 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He ranked fourth on the team in tackles. The Aggies defense also held opponents to 5.08 yards per play, ranking 34th nationally.

Over his career, Sanford has appeared in 39 games with 13 starts, accumulating 94 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, and seven pass breakups. He played all 13 games as both a freshman and sophomore, starting the final 10 games in his last full season.
