In this March 1998 deal, the Sharks allowed the Lightning to swap first-round picks. That meant Tampa Bay ended up with the No. 1 pick (a pick San Jose had received from Florida in a trade the year before) and drafted franchise icon Vincent Lecavalier. Marchment, an often-suspended defenseman, played six seasons in San Jose.
