Jay Paterno Reveals Shocking Insights on Drew Allar and Penn State’s NFL Draft Future
Joshua Valdez: What do you think separates Penn State’s prospects from a preparation standpoint compared to other Big Ten schools?
Jay Paterno: I don’t know if I can answer that because I haven’t been on the other practice fields. I haven’t been on Penn State’s practice field for a while, so I’m not sure what the day-in, day-out routine is. But I think there’s a pressure level at Penn State that certainly is right there with Ohio State, right there with Michigan, Alabama, places like that. There’s an expectation level of success, so they’ve had to understand the pressure and the expectations. So when they get drafted and walk into camp, they will already have had to go through those things. For a lot of guys, that’s the biggest thing that’s tough. All of a sudden, the microscope gets a lot bigger at the NFL level. And when you come to a place like Penn State, that microscope’s been on you at a very high level for four years.
