Jay Paterno Reveals Shocking Insights on Drew Allar and Penn State’s NFL Draft Future
Joshua Valdez: Lastly, who do you think is the most underrated draft prospect out of Penn State right now?
Jay Paterno: Oh, I think [safety Zakee] Wheatley. As a guy who coached offense for years. I love the way he plays the game. He is tough…he’ll come up and hit you. He was coached by Anthony Poindexter, who is a great, great coach in the secondary. So he benefited from that, but I think he’s the guy who could play a long time because of all the things he brings to the table. I think [running back Nicholas] Singleton could go in right now and be a third-down back for a lot of teams. He could also develop into an every-down back, ’cause of what he does in the pass game. [Offensive tackle Drew] Shelton is really interesting, ’cause he might be undersized, but he’s really active…Those are all names off the top of my head.
